Season - Free Agents
Free Agents Placement Format
1. Any walk-in players will be considered Free Agents.
2. Any fixed team(s) short of core drafted players, will pick up add-on players from the Free Agent pool. Each team should have at least 5 players each night.
3. If all fixed teams have enough of core drafted players, any extra Free Agents would be added to the team(s) as subs by wheel spinning. Each team handles on its own rotation.
4. For a night really short of core drafted players, FAs then can act as floating players and play on multiple teams should the teams decide not to play 4 on 4.
Note - Any new friends or players participated with stats in Season 4 but not being drafted will be automatically entered to Free Agents Pool for potential selection.
Season - Game Rules
1. 10 minutes game with 24 seconds shot clock.
2. Shot clock reset to full 24 seconds when ball hit the rim.
3. Pause shot clock when player calls foul with no reset if shot clock >14 seconds. If foul happened <14 seconds, then reset shot clock to 14 seconds.
4. Pause game clock at dead ball when game clock at final 1 minute. Or else, keep running game clock.
5. When score is tied, offensive team with final possession has option to dribble out (i.e. no need to take the final shot). If dribbled out, offensive team should shoot for ball (i.e. made basket then keep possession, missed shot then defensive team gets possession to start overtime).
6. Overtime - first team scores a basket win the overtime match.
7. In-game substitution option (i.e. each team decides on their own 5 players for game, but with option to sub in-n-out during dead ball).
8.NEW - Handicap in effective for each team (except the Champ) per draft result for all regular and playoff games.
9. NEW (Trial) - Starting at final 1 minute mark, offensive player being foul on jump shot (i.e. jump shot only) would reward free throw (2pts shot = 2 FTs or 3pts shot = 3 FTs). Game and shot clocks would be stopped during FTs. After FTs, defensive team get possession.
Season - Insufficient Players Rule
1. If a team has insufficient drafted players and/or FAs available to start a game, the team must forfeit the game if they can't suit up a minimum of 4 drafted players.
2. Forfeiting a game will receive an automatic loss, but still can play a casual game with stats. Opponent will get an automatic win.
Season - Overtime Rule
To determine which team gets 1st possession to start overtime, both teams will assign a representative to do a "rock-paper-scissors" game (1 round). Winner's team gets 1st possession.
Regular Season
1 minute overtime game. Team with higher score at the end of overtime game win. Continue overtime until a winner is determined.
Playoff
3 minutes overtime game. Team with higher score at the end of overtime game win. Continue overtime until a winner is determined.
Regular Season & Playoff Format
1. Regular season is 12 weeks.
2. Each team standing based on weekly points result (see Standings).
3. NEW - Team finished 4th and 5th will play knock-out PLAY IN match in the 13th week. 4th team will get Home Court Advantage with +2 handicap points. Winner of this match will advance to playoff as 4th seed. Losing team will be eliminated.
4. NEW Best-of-3 series playoff per match. Team with higher regular season seeding will get first Home Court Advantage (HCA). HCA means "home team" will get +2 handicap points per match. I.e. 1st Seed V.S. 4th Seed in Game 1, 1st Seed will be "home team" with +2 handicap points. Game 2 will be 4th Seed as "home team" with +2 handicap points. Should a Game 3 is needed, then 1st Seed back to be the "home team" with +2 handicap points.
5. Based on regular season (12 weeks) team ranking for playoff seeding, 1st Place Team VS 4th Place Team (i.e. winner from PLAY IN) and 2nd Place Team VS 3rd Place Team.
6. Winners from 1st round will advance to play the Finals for the Richmond Grizzlies Champion Trophy. Winner of this match will be the champion and losing team be 2nd place.
7. Two losing teams in 1st round will play against each other in knock-out format for 3rd place (the winner of this match up) and 4th place (the loser for this match up).
